Film premiere: Anaïs in Love

In this delightful French romantic comedy, a young woman (Anaïs Demoustier) begins an affair with a much older man (Denis Podalydès) but then falls for his wife (Valeria Bruni Tedeschi).

Anaïs is thirty, broke and no longer convinced she’s in love with her lover. Frenetic and frequently too candid, Anaïs leads a whirlwind existence. When she meets publisher Daniel (Podalydès), the two seem mismatched, but fall into an affair anyway. But Anaïs is far more taken with Daniel’s wife, Emilie (Bruni Tedeschi), a successful writer. When the two women meet, the attraction is instantaneous and intense. The three collide at a writers’ symposium, and while clueless Daniel tries to keep his affair concealed, things heat up between the two women. Comic situations abound in Charline Bourgeois-Tacquet’s sparkling debut feature – an enchanting story of profound desire.
