1 PM – we are standing at the top of Annapurna. We are happy, but frostbite to my fingers has diminished my success. The mountain will stay in my memory for a long time as dangerous, threatening, ruthless, but beautiful. I was perfectly prepared, but the difficulties and dangers during the ascent showed how dangerous it is to climb 8,000 meters.
