Concert of Michał Skwierczyński Quartet!

Michał Skwierczyński – guitarist, band leader, student of the jazz department at Warsaw’s Chopin Music School. He finds inspiration in jazz in abroad sense and related music genres. He has been the most strongly influenced by Pat Metheny, John Scofield, Kurt Rosenwinkel and Jonathan Kreisber. He trained under the eyes of Rafał Sarnecki, Dave Allen, Femi Temowo, Jacek Królik, Krzysztof Barcik, Piotr Lemański and Krzysztof Gradziuk. He will present his repertoire with known musicians from Bialystok.

Karol Sypytkowski – bassist, bass guitarist, a graduate of the Bialystok branch of the Warsaw University of Music (double bass class of Prof. Leszek Sokołowski) and the Jazz Institute at the Katowice Academy of Music (double bass class of Michał Barański). He has played with bands such as WEM, Modern Groove, Draft, Sarakina (the “Junctions” album in 2005). As a session musician he takes part in many different projects (DeMorela, Projekt Zimne Dranie, Kamil Skorupski Band, and more). He collaborates with the school theatre of the Aleksander Zelwerowicz Theatre Academy’s puppet theatre department in Warsaw and with the Post-secondary Singing and Acting School in Białystok.

Maciej Dziemski – drummer, graduate of the Chopin University of Music in Warsaw, respected session musician known mainly from his collaborations with Kamil Skorupski (the album “Questions for Tonight”), member of DeMorela, Chanajki Klezmer Band, MeGa and other bands, mainly in Białystok. He has worked with many organisations, including the Podlasie Opera and Philharmonic, the Białystok Culture Centre and the Białystok Puppet Theatre.

Arek Grygo – pianist, composer, producer. Co-founder of the bands How To Jazz Trio and Grygo&Kulesza Pianoohedz. He draws inspiration from gospel, hip-hop, funk and electronic music. He has worked under the watchful eyes of Wojtek Niedziela, Kuba Stankiewicz, Artur Dutkiewicz, Michał Urbaniak and Michael “Patches” Stewart, and performed with Brandon Furman, JSP Ensemble and Piotr Schmidt Electric Group, among others.
