World Animal Day in 3D: Wild Africa and Tiny Giants
October 4th, 2017, 6 PM, Forum Cinema
tickets: 20 PLN

The World Animal Day takes place on the Feast of St Francis of Assisi, October 4th. Started in 1931 in Italy, this annual celebration of all things furry is now a popular day in which we remember the important role that animals have to play in our world, as well as the people who devote their lives working to protect and care for them. To get into the festive mood on October 4th you are encouraged to ditch the fur fabrics, refuse to buy products tested on animals and – probably of greater concern to the majority of folk – convert to vegetarianism.

Tiny Giants
In an adventure of giant proportions, Tiny Giants 3D reveals the astonishing lives of the smallest of animals.

Using the incredibly immersive power of specialist 3D cameras, audiences are transported in a very intimate way into another world to experience the titanic battles these creatures face to survive.

A chipmunk in a wild wood and a grasshopper mouse in Arizona’s scorched deserts are both forced to grow up fast when they find themselves alone for the first time. Only by using their ingenious superpowers can our heroes not only stay alive, but also become masters of their universe.

Tiny Giants 3D is inspired by the BBC original television series Hidden Kingdoms. The US premiere of the BBC/Discovery Channel co-production – renamed Mini Monsters and narrated by Peter Dinklage (Game of Thrones) – aired as a two-hour special on Discovery in May 2014.

Wild Africa
Come with us on a spectacular 3D ride across, over, and through the magical realms of the most dramatic continent on earth: Africa.

Our guide through this enchanted kingdom is the sorcerer itself – water. Water crafts Wild Africa, conjuring up life wherever it journeys… travelling above the plains on seasonal winds, cascading along raging rivers or sheltering coral cities. Audiences will be plunged into fantastic places and meet amazing creatures.

On the journey through the magical realms of Africa, we’ll discover the fascinating secrets of this enchanted kingdom. How spectacular volcanic lakes help turn thousands of flamingos pink, why the heat beating down on waterless dunes in the Namib Desert forces a lizard to dance; and why it snows on the equator.

It’s an adventure where you will truly believe the real world is more extraordinary and awe-inspiring than any fiction.Winner of the 2016 Audience Prize at the Academica Film Olomouc festival in the Czech Republic.

In January 2016, BBC Earth was awarded the Sir Charles Wheatstone Award by the International 3D and Advanced Imaging Society which is given in recognition of a body of work in 3D. This is for our films (Walking with Dinosaurs, Enchanted Kingdom) and giant screen films (Tiny Giants, Wild Africa, etc.).
