Amerykański sen / American Dream

Glucholazy, a small town bustling with life in the nineties, is now dying out. There is a great unemployment, and many people have left. In this dead-end place teenage Szymon decides to fulfil his big dream: he wants to become a professional wrestler.

A metaphor for socio-political transformations that took place in the 1990s in the Eastern Bloc countries. It is also a reference to Cargo cults, a religious movement born in Fiji in the 19th century, proclaiming the arrival of a new order – equality of all people and widespread well-being.

David is looking after his father who has a deepening Alzheimer’s disease. The son wants to know him better and get closer to the man whose health is declining with each passing day.

One morning in an opencast mine of precious metals. It is Krzysztof’s first working day as a manager. In order to survive in the environment of physical workers, where the man clearly doesn’t fit, he intends to maintain discipline with a firm hand.
