Concert: Ewa Bem with the Band

This year’s Białystok City Mayor Artistic Award granting ceremony will feature a concert of Ewa Bem with the Band

Ewa Maria Bem-Sibilska made her debut in 1969 in the youth blues band Stodoła. In 1970 she started her solo career as a vocalist in Zbigniew Seifert Quartet. Then, she became a vocalist of the band Bemibek which was created with Aleksander Bem and Andrzej Ibek (soon the name was changed into Bemibem). The band performed in 1971 at The International Jazz Jamboree Festival in Warsaw.

Ewa Bem gave concerts in Poland and abroad and received many awards at prestigious competitions and festivals, e.g.: in 1971 the Jazz nad Odrą Prize, at the Song Contest Opole and the prize for jazz vocalists in Lublin. Ewa Bem has been working with the best Polish jazz musicians: Andrzej Jagodziński, Henryk Miśkiewicz, Jan “Ptaszyn” Wróblewski and Polish outstanding orchestras: Kukla Band, Maciej Pawłowski Jazz Orchestra and also with Swing Session. She worked with the guitarist Jan Borysewicz and with the operatic singer Małgorzata Walewska. She performed in Poland and abroad: in Cuba, India, Sweden and other Scandinavian countries, the Czech Republic and also in Western Europe and the USA.
