Dakh Daughters

Aleksander Węgierko Drama Theater, 14 Elektryczna Street
tickets: 20 zł (presale), 30 zł (on the day of the concert) – available at the Forum Cinema box office (5 Legionowa Street) and online.

Dakh Daughters is an electrifying music and theatre project from Ukraine – seven young women that look like actresses from black-and-white silent films, with whitened faces, smoky eyes, and bloody red lips, however, on the stage “the daughters” will not stop for a moment. They roll through the stage like a hurricane. They play on many instruments, sing, scream, dance, and perform various kinds of crazy stunts creating a spectacular, surprising spectacle. Their performances combine elements of theatre, cabaret, burlesque, recitation, traditional singing, punk, dance, and visual arts. In their works they often use the texts of famous authors (T. Shevchenko, W. Shakespeare, J. Brodsky, C. Bukowski). They sing in Ukrainian, Russian, English, French, and German. They have performed successfully at music and theatre festivals in the Netherlands, Portugal, Switzerland, Germany, Norway, Austria, France, and Poland.
