Future Shorts Autumn

In spite of the weather that makes us spend evenings at home, the Future Shorts Autumn offers a lot of activity. All the scheduled films require a lot of attention and mental effort. There are 5 short films in the program – 3 feature shorts, one experimental film, and one music video.

All movies are available in English and Polish. Total duration: 85 min.

October 10th, 2017, 6:30 PM
Forum Cinema, 5 Legionowa Street
tickets: 14 PLN

Schedule:

Les Miserables
In the modern-day Parisian neighbourhood of Victor Hugo’s novel, a new transfer cop learns of abusive policing practices of two veterans. When a young boy records them going too far, the community threatens to explode.

Sing
Zsofi is struggling to fit in at her new school – singing in the school’s famous choir is her only consolation, but the choir director may not be the inspirational teacher everyone thinks she is. The movie received the Oscar – The Academy Award in short fiction category in 2016.

The Blaze – Territory
A young man returns home to the remote place he once called home, Algiers. Involving a charismatic protagonist, vacillating between fierceness and sensitivity, this music video embodies The Blaze’s rage, whose authenticity-driven adroitness as video and music producers no longer needs to be demonstrated.

Rocknrollers
A moving coming-of-age story about depression and the beneficial, healing effect of music and friendship.

Batrachian’s Ballad
Like the gypsies, ceramic frogs don’t go unnoticed to a careful observer. Batrachian’s Ballad comes about in a context of ambiguity. A film that intervenes in the reality of Portuguese everyday life, as a form of fabling about a xenophobic behaviour.
