Adam Lach’ (Napo Images) picture, taken on July 24th 2017 in Warsaw during the protests against the reforms of the Polish judiciary, took the first place.

Among around the 4.8 thousand photos submitted for the competition, the jury chose 65 stand-alone pictures and 15 reportages. Among them, we will see, moving photos documenting the drama of the Rohingja people who fled from Burma to Bangladesh; terrifying images after the storm that struck Poland last year; the world seen through the eyes of young people; strong images from demonstrations in defense of the courts and from the March of Independence, unexpected situations from sports competitions. There are also memorable portraits of Polish highlanders, pictures documenting the destruction of Polish forests, a moving story about Igor that suffers from cri du chat syndrome or a harrowing documentary about the struggle of a depressed photographer.
