For several years, the Poznań-based traditional jazz band Dixie Company has been performing a music program aimed at the youngest listeners called the Small Jazz Academy. Its aim is to educate children and young people and prepare for communing with the so-called higher culture to which jazz music undoubtedly belongs.
We invite children between the ages of 5 and 12 together with carers to jointly explore the world of jazz.
The moderator in a short, interesting, synthetic and unrestricted form, provides young listeners with knowledge about the genesis and history of traditional jazz. It brings closer the most famous artists and composers associated with this genre. Musicians demonstrate the most recognizable standards, characteristic and unusual instruments.
