“Esperanto Songs” is a concert of Maciej Fortuna’s compositions for poems in Esperanto by poets connected with Greater Poland. The project aims to celebrate the centenary of the death of Ludwik Zamenhof.

Maciej Fortuna is a trumpeter, composer and music producer. Besides creating his own musical language and expanding his instrumental palette, he experiments with combining different genres of art. An important part of his work is the usage of live electronics. He creates and directs multimedia concerts and video productions.

Maciej Fortuna’s participation in this project is not accidental – the composer comes from an Esperanto family. His parents met through Esperanto, so that Fortuna grew in the spirit of Ludwik Zamenhof’s language.

Maciej Fortuna is accompanied by leading Greater Poland musicians of the younger generation.

The program of the evening combines local creativity with the international dimension of Esperanto – it consists of songs for the words of contemporary authors, mostly from Greater Poland, including Andrzej Bartyński, Ryszard Bibersztajn, Maria Duszka, Dominik Górny, Krystyna Grys, Zdzisława Kaczmarek, Lech Lament, Stanisław Leon Machowiak, Janusz Sauer, Barbara Tylman, and i Anna Elżbieta Zalewska. All songs in Esperanto translation of Lidia Ligęza.
