A rebellious and uncompromising artist, who follows her own path and avoids sensation and publicity. Yet, she makes hits which are liked all around Poland. Maria Sadowska has been present on the Polish music scene for nearly 20 years. She is very versatile and combines such different genres as jazz, funk, electronic music and pop. She is a recognized vocalist, composer, songwriter and music producer. Her works are played by the biggest radio stations in Poland. She has made 11 albums (including two published in Japan). Tribute to Komeda (for which she got a Golden Record) was a breakthrough in her career, and it has become an important part of the history of Polish music. She has also collaborated with multiple Polish and foreign artists. As the only Polish vocalist, she performed with Michel Legrand on the prestigious, jubilee Jazz Jamboree Festival. She has also worked with Michał Urbaniak, Jan Ptaszyn-Wróblewski, Bogusław Mec and Victor Davies. Maria graduated from the Film

and Television Direction Department and of the Polish Film School in Łódź, and for years she has been involved in various film projects. Her full-length feature debut Dzień Kobiet had its premiere on the 37th Polish Film Festival in Gdynia. It has been awarded multiple times in Poland and abroad: among others with the Grand Prix of the 22nd Film Festival Cottbus.

Maria Sadowska is one of very few directors who singlehandedly composed music for her own film – the Dzień Kobiet album received positive review and shown how much Sadowska is engaged in the matters of women. The whole project has been honored with an Okulary Równości award.

In 2013, Maria accepted the invitation to the biggest TV music show “The Voice of Poland”, where she was granted the role of one of four jurors and teachers. For the first time in history of the Polish edition of the show, she managed to lead all three of her contestants to victory.

After many successful years in music and film, the vocalist even strengthened her position with her long awaited, last album Jazz na ulicach. This time, Maria presented on the one hand a synthesis of long-developed, bold musical variations and her successful experiments within genres around which she has oscillated for years, and on the other hand it a mature return to the best jazz school in which she surely was one of the most diligent students. The album obtained a “Golden Record” status, and Maria made a long concert tour, which lasted two seasons and saw full concert halls almost every time. On 27 January of 2017 her newest film was launched, Sztuka Kochania, which tell the story of Michalina Wisłocka. It has received many positive reviews and hit all Polish box office records. Currently, Maria is preparing the premiere of some brand new material that will be announced soon.
