The project “Beach”, created for over three years, shows sunbathers, their behavior, customs, beach fashion, and everything that is related to the so-called “beach folklore” occurring at the Polish seaside. The background of the project is the concept of the so-called “screening”, a phenomenon that has developed in recent years in Baltic resorts. It consists in separating sunbathers from each other with colorful screens.

Screening on the scale present in Poland has found its justification even from a sociological perspective. A thesis has been put forward that it results from our national mentality, social distrust and alienation, and that is why we separate ourselves from each other.

The beach, sparkling with thousands of colors, fades at the end of August each year, when holidays end and seaside resorts empty.
