This is the 5th edition of The Rise of Eastern Culture / Another Dimension festival. The event takes place from August 31st to September 3rd.
From the very beginning. the main idea behind the festival was to present the richness of multiculturalism of Podlachia, especially, of Białystok. Another Dimension promotes the idea of dialogue and tolerance in a culturally diverse city, where Poles, Russians, Belarusians, Tatars, Ukrainians, Lithuanians, Jews, and Germans coexisted since ages. It brings back memory of the lost, while showing contemporary achievements at the same time. It links history with contemporary artistic activity.
Each edition of the festival is devoted to a particular nationality, for centuries contributing to the history and culture of the region. So far they were Tatars, Belarusians, Jews, and Ukrainians. This year, we return to the idea of the Tower of Babel. The events we propose will be related to the broadly understood East and Eastern Partnership countries. These will include concerts, performances, films, exhibitions, educational walks, family-style artistic activities, and fashion shows. We invite you to participate in them!
