Can fire and ice dwell next to each other? On an island called Iceland – definitely yes.

We will set off on a journey to one of the strangest places in the world. Where the beaches are black, the earth explodes, mud boils, and in the vicinity of glaciers you can bask in a warm lake. We will check how geysers explode, look into an extinct volcano, see unusual rocks and learn about the phenomenon of the northern lights, which illuminates the northern sky with unusual colors.

Natural wonders are not everything that awaits us: Iceland is full of stories, legends and fairy tales. Tales of brave Vikings and fluffy puffins are waiting for us. We set off on the trail of elves and trolls, but we will also learn about mysterious Huldufólks that are not always nice… Finally, we’ll look into the world of ghosts!

Monika Radzikowskaarchaeologist, animator and educator. Several times a year, she packs a backpack and goes to excavations, to the mountains or to distant places – these are usually the countries of the east and north.
